Our client is a leading Trans-Tasman Debt Purchasing business that is experiencing rapid growth in Australia, with current teams located in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and plans for further growth already underway.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Business Development Manager to expand their debt management services across targeted Australian Territories. The successful BDM will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships and driving revenue growth in the debt management sector.

You will leverage your expertise to build new relationships and close high-value deals, with large organisations that make up Australia’s financial services market, as well as those in the utilities sector, telecommunications companies and other enterprise level businesses.

If you’re a driven hunter who thrives on prospecting, identifying opportunities, and sealing the deal, this role is made for you.

The Role in more detail:

  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, qualify, negotiate, and secure agreements for debt ledger acquisitions.
  • Build strategic partnerships with target organisations companies that that align with their customer profile
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends and potential business opportunities.
  • Proactively generate your own sales leads and manage those generated for you.
  • Manage a robust sales pipeline, working from client qualification to sales conversion.
  • Attend key industry events to expand your professional network
  • Structure and negotiate deals for debt ledger acquisitions.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within target organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding of acquired debt ledgers.
  • Promote the company values and socially responsible debt recovery practices
  • Confidently open doors and leverage networks, for new client engagement opportunities


About You:

  • 5 + years strategic business development experience
  • Confidence to engage with C-Level executives within the large business/corporate sector.
  • Experience in debt acquisition or financial services is desirable
  • High level relationship management skills, with strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • A proactive, self-starter attitude with a results-driven mindset.
  • Enjoys getting amongst it and networking with key influencers
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally as required.
  • Ambitious with aspirations to earn career development opportunities
  • High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, empathy, and credibility.
