Ventia is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Accountant to join their Finance team in the new year.

This full-time, permanent position will involve close collaboration with our Transport Infrastructure business across the Thames-Coromandel and Hauraki District regions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial management of projects or business units, primarily supporting the Project Finance Manager to drive finance excellence.

The role ensures robust processes are in place for accurate reporting, timely performance insights, and data integrity.

Additionally, the Project Accountant identifies areas for improvement and works with the Project Finance Manager and project teams to implement necessary changes.

As a subject matter expert (SME) on transaction accounting, the Project Accountant will share this expertise with the project team.

ABOUT YOU

Ideally you, you will have a minimum 5 years’ experience in the Infrastructure sectors particularly in Roading Construction and Maintenance as well as preferably a CA/CPA qualification gained in Australia or New Zealand.



Skills, Characteristics, and other experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Office 365, and SharePoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles for construction/maintenance projects.
  • Supportive of workload and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborative within the regional finance team.
  • Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset.
