He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role: As a Cyber Security Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of protecting KiwiRail’s operations. Reporting to the Cyber Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Monitoring and investigating cyber events
Managing incident response and coordinating remediations
Identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in our systems
Automating repetitive security tasks to enhance efficiency
Engaging KiwiRail staff in cybersecurity awareness and training
Drafting comprehensive security reports and recommendations
Your work will ensure KiwiRail’s digital infrastructure remains resilient, safeguarding our operations and the communities we serve
Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring: To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
At least 2 years’ experience in Cybersecurity or related fields
Familiarity with IT security standards and tools like AlienVault, Trend Micro, or equivalents
Scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages
Strong analytical skills for identifying and explaining anomalies
Exceptional communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
