Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team

The Neurogenetic clinical research program is part of the Centre for Brain Research. The team consists of Investigators/Research Fellows, Nurses, Coordinators, Physiotherapists and a Research Assistant. We conduct a variety of pharmaceutical, interventional and natural history studies for participants with conditions including ataxia, muscular dystrophies and spinal muscular atrophy. The research is completed in collaboration with partners internationally or developed by investigations within the Neurogenetic research team. Our transdisciplinary research involves collaboration with Audiology, Speech Science and Vision Science.

Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The position of Clinical Research lead is an excellent opportunity to deliver effective team and project management across numerous exciting clinical research studies in Neurogenetic disorders.

The varied operational activities include:

  • Provide mentoring and direction for professional staff
  • Operational coordination of all aspects of particular clinical research studies
  • Support the Principal Investigator to ensure studies are conducted to meet the requirements of protocols, scientific, ethical, and other relevant standards
  • Facilitate the process of submitting ethics and funding applications for studies.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with external partners
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of participating site involvement in multicentre studies, both nationally and internationally
  • Manage ongoing relationships with external partners


This is a part time, (0.8FTE, 30 hours per week), 12-month fixed term parental leave cover.

Remuneration: $89,201 - $102,900 per annum, pro rata, dependent on experience.

Qualifications
He kōrero mōu | About you

We are seeking someone with a relevant tertiary qualification (medicine, science, nursing, public health, genetic counselling, allied health, social work, or education) and a certification/qualification in good clinical practice (GCP) who has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in clinical research.
