Our client, KidsCan, a leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing essential resources to children in need across New Zealand, is seeking a Senior Fundraising and Events Specialist. This role is integral to taking KidsCan’s fundraising activity to new heights, supporting the delivery and execution of their fundraising and events strategy.

What you'll do
As a Senior Fundraising and Events Specialist, you will play an integral role in shaping the future of KidsCan’s fundraising efforts. You will work closely with the Senior Fundraising, Events and Community Manager to deliver large-scale events that maximise revenue. Your strategic mindset will be crucial in developing acquisition strategies that attract and retain fundraising and event participants.
You will also be responsible for cultivating strong relationships with fundraising and event partners, donors and community stakeholders ensuring their retention. One of your key tasks will be leading a major product campaign from planning through to execution. Additionally, you will represent KidsCan at various fundraising and networking events, showcasing your excellent communication skills.
- Work alongside the Senior Fundraising, Events and Community Manager to support the end-to-end delivery of large-scale events.
- Develop acquisition strategies and engagement plans to attract and retain fundraising and event participants.
- Establish and maintain relationships with event partners.
- Conduct post-event activity analysis and learning's.
- Lead a major campaign with responsibility for all aspects from planning to execution.
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing fundraising campaign partners ensuring retention.
- Support the nurturing of major fundraising relationships.
- Identify lead opportunities within the fundraising portfolio.
- Represent the organisation at fundraising and networking events.
- Manage income and expenditure budgets for fundraising activity.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Fundraising and Events Specialist role will bring a wealth of experience in business development, marketing, PR or related fields. You should have a proven track record of successfully acquiring new business with a focus on driving revenue. Your exceptional relationship-building skills will enable you to engage stakeholders at all levels effectively. A strategic mindset coupled with excellent communication skills will be key in identifying opportunities for growth. You will be skilled in running projects, briefing, planning, executing, and overseeing events, ensuring timelines, budgets, and goals are met.
- Proven experience in Business Development, Marketing, PR and Events or related field
