About The Role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga
This is an independent contractor position for a Registered Nurse to join our team in Tairāwhiti Gisborne region. Ideally with Spinal Chord Injuries experience. Being a community-based role, the successful candidate will be comfortable working in homes, community and workplace settings. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and work with people from all walks of life so someone who thrives in a people-based role will get a real kick out of the variety in this position!
This role will be covering the Tairāwhiti Gisborne region.
We are able to offer flexible working arrangements, to make sure that the role can fit around your family, social and sporting commitments. We have opportunities to base yourself at home, or at the office, working with you, and what is going to work best.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Promote health and wellbeing with the people we support, their family/whanau and staff to optimize people’s quality of life!
- Provide support to ensure timely access to health services, including primary care and specialist services.
- Provision of clinical advice as required to community support workers and allied health colleagues
- Completion of high quality client assessments and rehabilitation plans
- Being the clinical interface between the District Health Board (DHB) Clinical Specialists and Primary Care and to advocate for the optimum level of access to health services and treatment for people with a disability.
- Early identification of health issues that may impact negatively on people’s quality of life.
- Proactively identify interventions to reduce negative experiences for the people we support and our staff.
- Active involvement in health and wellbeing service plan reviews
What you will bring | Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate
- Experience working with Spinal Cord Injuries
- Willingness to maintain and update nursing skills and knowledge
- Have a clear Police check enabling you to work with vulnerable adults
- Have an excellent knowledge and understanding of nursing principles and a vision of what can be achieved in the community for the people we support
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel across the wider Tairāwhiti Gisborne region
- Ability to communicate in Te Reo would be advantageous
- Full clean drivers licence and own reliable form of transport
