The role

We have a current vacancy for a Governance Coordinator to support the Democracy Services team. This is a permanent full-time position.

The work is varied from processing purchase orders, paying invoices to being involved with organising events, coordinating important meetings, and being across the general pulse of the team. Your schedule will be primarily driven from the calendar of Council meetings and briefings.

So who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who brings a strong administrative skillset and is interested in the opportunity to support the Governance and Democracy Services team.

You'll bring experience working in a similar role with a high level of initiative and be able to anticipate what managers and Elected Members may require from you in this support role. We want someone who can effectively prioritise their workload with eyes and ears across the on-goings of the team, escalating when necessary. You'll be tech-savvy and be comfortable using a range of software including Microsoft Suite. An understanding of financial processing would be a plus!

We need someone who is confident they can operate professionally in a political environment, learn the ropes quickly and provide high quality support to our team which is such a critical function of Council.
