Job Description

Electrician – Opportunities in Rotorua & Taupo

We are looking for a fully qualified Electrician for our Taupo based client with background knowledge and experience with the following (but not limited to):

  • All Electrical aspects of rural sector in dairy sheds, irrigation, effluent systems, refrigeration, water pumps, and their control
  • Examining blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation
  • Experience with installations and service security alarms, CCTV systems, fire alarms, heat pumps and alternative energy solutions advantageous.
  • Fault finding and problem-solving skills, coupled with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Selecting, cutting and connecting wire and cable to terminals and connectors
  • Using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults
  • Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts
  • Positioning and installing electrical switchboards
  • Connecting electrical systems to power supply
  • Testing continuity of circuit


About You:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience
  • NZ EWRB Practicing License
  • Effective communication skills and be customer focused
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current New Zealand Electrical Regulations
  • A positive attitude to working in a safe and healthy manner
  • Experience with Residential, Commercial, Industrial and (Rural experience advantageous)
  • Full class 1 clean NZ driver’s licence
  • New Zealand residency or a valid NZ working visa
