Position Overview
Are you passionate about teaching, student support, and fostering pathways to success? Massey University is seeking a dedicated Tutor for a 2-year fixed-term, full time (37.5hrs) position to support our dynamic undergraduate programmes and short courses within the School of Agriculture and Environment (SAE). Based in Palmerston North, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to student growth, deliver high-quality education, and collaborate with industry and high school educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging teaching and support to undergraduate students.
- Assist with the delivery of short courses and educational experiences for diverse student groups.
- Guide and mentor students, offering both academic and pastoral support.
- Work with high school students and teachers to facilitate pathways into SAE programmes.
- Represent SAE at recruitment events across New Zealand.
What We’re Looking For:
- A relevant undergraduate degree completion or at least part completion of a relevant postgrad is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with people at all levels.
- Experience with electronic and online technologies in teaching.
- Ideally, prior knowledge of SAE programmes and/or completion of one of its undergraduate programmes.
- Recent teaching experience in a university or other tertiary teaching environment is preferred, but not essential.
- An interest in education and career development would be an advantage.
