This role offers a rewarding chance to support your community while gaining diverse healthcare experience. Ideal for those who find fulfillment in assisting others, it requires empathy, respect, and cultural awareness. Responsibilities include reporting to the charge nurse, completing delegated tasks promptly, and aiding patients with basic hygiene needs. Domestic duties such as bed-making, linen changes, and meal service are also expected.

Shifts are typically 8 hours long with a 30-minute unpaid break, occasionally you may be offered 12 hour day or nights shifts (or the option to extend whilst on shift at your discretion)

Shift examples:

  • Morning shift: 0700-1500
  • Afternoon shift: 1500-2300
  • Night shift: 2300-0700


Your profile will be submitted to the hospitals for final approval, offering you a secure role within our healthcare environment.

What you will bring | Nga tohungatanga mo tenei turanga

The successful candidate will be driven by a passion to deliver exceptional services and will be/have:

  • Health-care Assistant Level 3 qualification or NZ Certificate in Health and Well-being (Advanced Support) Level 4, with at least 6 months recent experience
  • Experience and knowledge of the health sector
  • Current CPR certificate
  • Successful applicants must undergo a current health screen test
  • 2nd or 3rd year Nursing Students with completed clinical placements or Overseas Registered Nurses with relevant experience.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in partnership with clients and their family/whanau
  • Be able to work collaboratively in a team and passionate about developing your skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and highly developed emotional intelligence
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the resilience and ability to cope with the unexpected or difficult situations
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
