Job Description

Based at the Winstone Aggregates site in Belmont, Lower Hutt, we are on the hunt for a Support Maintenance Engineer that can support the delivery of the maintenance plan across site with focus on plant, reliability and quality.

What about you?

  • Appropriate engineering qualifications BEng/Meng are preferred.
  • A productive member of a team who contributes positively to business activities.
  • Appropriate industry experience in multi-product quarry sites.
  • Working knowledge of statutory requirements e.g. Resource Management Act (1991), Health & Safety at Work act (2015).
  • A detailed theoretical & applied knowledge of aggregates processing systems, equipment & operations.


What will you do?

  • Fixed & mobile plant equipment maintenance activities and involvement in projects focussed on efficiency improvements, particularly throughput, quality control, maintenance programmes & cost reduction.
  • Assist in the execution of small and large scale maintenance tasks.
  • Work closely and cooperatively with the Fixed Plant Engineer, Site supervisors and Quarry team.
  • Look for and suggest productivity improvements.
  • Facilitate EHS performance through attendance and participation in regular planning, review/meetings.
  • Monitor & problem solve to assist the team in achieving daily, monthly & annual targets.
  • Fixed plant maintenance optimisation, including improvement in deviation closure rates and recurrence rates.
