Job Description

We have an opportunity to join our team as a Residential Night Attendant based at our Te Maioha o Parekarangi Residence

The team at Te Maioha o Parekarangi aim to increase resilience and wellbeing of tamariki and rangatahi through care provisions that will promote whānau and community inclusion. We will work closely with iwi to ensure the best services and supports are available, to achieve the vision of better outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi in our care. We need advocates that are empathetic to the needs of tamariki and rangatahi that will promote and utilise key services within health, education and social services.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

As a Residential Night Attendant, you will be part of a team that is responsible for providing safe care for young people, security of property during the night and general administrative and household activities.

The position operates on a fortnightly schedule (80 hours per fortnight) with working hours between 10pm - 6:30 am, on a rotating roster. This is a night awake position.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

• NZ drivers' license
• Be a strong team player and positive role model
• Experience in working rostered shifts/night shifts
• Demonstrate initiative and sound judgement with an ability to 'think on your feet'
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence across the Microsoft Office suite

Experience in social services, including working with at-risk children or youth is preferred, but not essential.
