The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of diesel engines and related systems, along with the ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment in the stunning Waikato region.

Our client is a reputable company dedicated to delivering excellence and offers 24/7 in field and workshop repairs and maintenance to a range of earthmoving machinery, agricultural machinery, and heavy road transport vehicles. With a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction and we have built a strong reputation in the industry. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and conduct thorough inspections to identify problems
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
  • Conduct electrical system diagnostics and repairs
  • Operate from the workshop and attend breakdowns and call outs when required


Skills sought

  • A recognised automotive qualification, preferably as a diesel mechanic
  • Prior experience working on earthmoving and agricultural equipment as well as trucks
  • Sound technical skills and mechanical ability
  • Strong diagnostic skills for using diagnostic software and maintaining digital records
  • Excellent attention to detail and fault finding abilities
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair requests as needed
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
