Are you looking to make a positive impact in a young person’s life? Do you enjoy working 1:1?
An 18-year-old man in Hillcrest is looking for someone to hang out with and accompany him to his volunteer work and activities. We are looking for someone who will share his Christian values to be a great role model and mentor. If you have experience supporting someone who is neurodivergent (mild Aspergers and ADHD), have a sense of humour and fun to be around, please get in touch. Perhaps you also share his interests of classic cars, fixing cars and building things. You will be accompanying him to his volunteer work at a community garden, Op Shop and attending church conferences and camps. Camps are 2 – 4 nights away. He is chatty and can be persuasive so confidence in being able to stop or change the conversation is a must. You need to be attentive and engaging for a successful match.
The hours range from Tuesday to Saturday. Tuesday and Fridays are afternoon/ evening, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9- 5pm and Saturdays are 12 to 8pm. Some flexibility is needed around the start and finish times. A car and full licence is ideal but not essential. Potential employees are subject to reference and police checks.
