The Flail Mower Operator is responsible maintaining and clearing vegetation along road corridors. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring road safety, visibility, and the integrity of transportation infrastructure by effectively managing overgrowth, brush, and debris that can obstruct traffic or contribute to erosion. The role requires skilled equipment operation, routine maintenance, and a focus on safety while working in high-traffic areas and sometimes challenging weather conditions.



Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

You will be a physically fit and motivated person and will bring with you.

  • Class 2 and WTR license required
  • Proven experience in operating heavy machinery, including flail mowers, tractors, or similar road maintenance equipment
  • Be reliable and hard working
  • Have a positive 'can do' attitude
  • Show commitment to safe work practises
  • Prior experience in roadside vegetation management, or a similar role in road maintenance, is highly desirable
