Are you passionate about supporting young people to grow in confidence and independence? A curious and imaginative teenager with a learning disability is looking for a coach and buddy to help him rebuild his routine and re-engage with life.
He’s a nature lover, a foodie who enjoys trying cuisines from all cultures, and fascinated by outer space. Lately, he’s been feeling overwhelmed, and now he needs someone who can bring energy, patience, and creativity to help him find his rhythm again.
About the Role:
You'll play a key part in guiding him back into a structured routine, helping him gain confidence, and making everyday activities feel achievable and fun. Your background in teaching, psychology, or counselling will be a huge asset as you support him with:
✅ Creating a consistent daily routine in a relaxed and encouraging way
✅ Building resilience and confidence through small, meaningful successes
✅ Exploring the world together—going for walks, catching the bus, and fostering independence
✅ Engaging in conversations about his dreams and interests
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Someone who is positive, patient, and great at making people feel heard
✔ A natural at building trust and motivation without pressure or confrontation
✔ Some understanding of neurodiversity and mental health (or a willingness to learn)
✔ A can-do attitude and an open mind
The Details:
⏳ Around 15 hours per week—ideally 3 hours each morning, but we’re flexible
📍 Based in Remuera
