Our teams are our greatest asset and we are committed to employing and training the best people. NZCL team is looking for energetic and motivated people to support people in their own home.

We are looking for two part time support worker with experience working with intellectual disabilities in Wellington. The roster to support a female with intellectual disabilities is Wednesday 10am-2pm and 3pm-7pm and Saturday 10am-3pm. The roster to support a male with intellectual disabilities is Monday 10.30am-2pm and 4pm-6pm, Tuesday 4pm-6pm, Thursday 10.30am-2pm and 3.30pm-5.30pm.

You will support people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives to achieve their personal dreams and goals by doing the things they want to do such as going swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies, or shopping - the list is endless!

  • Good communication skills
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience working with youth.
  • Full driver's license and owning your own vehicle is essential.
  • A desire to support people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes.
  • Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.
  • Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
