About Us

Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) has been a cornerstone of Early Childhood Education (ECE) in New Zealand since 1908. With 107 kindergartens, four KiNZ centres, five playgroups, and a dedicated support team, we provide enriching learning environments where tamariki can grow as confident and competent learners.

Guided by Te Whāriki, our bicultural curriculum framework, AKA places tamariki, their parents, and whānau at the heart of everything we do. Our kindergartens are diverse, welcoming spaces where children embark on a lifetime of learning.

About Dannemora Kindergarten

Nestled near the Botany Downs Secondary College grounds, Dannemora Kindergarten offers a dynamic and inviting environment designed to inspire curiosity and growth. Our beautifully designed outdoor area and well-resourced indoor spaces create a nurturing setting where tamariki can thrive.

Our kindergarten is deeply connected to its community. Whānau actively participate in cultural events, contribute to our programs, and play a vital role in our daily life. Our passionate kaiako team values collaboration, inclusiveness, and innovation to create meaningful learning experiences.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified/registered ECE Kaiako with a current first aide certificate to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. As a valued team member, you will collaborate with your colleagues to embrace bicultural practices and deliver exceptional outcomes for tamariki. Your passion and skills will support a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable kindergarten environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster play-based learning and empower tamariki to explore, discover, and grow.
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships within our kindergarten community.
  • Plan, assess, and document learning effectively.
  • Celebrate the cultural diversity of our tamariki, whānau, and local community.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
  • Show a commitment to sustainability and a love for nature.

What We Offer

Joining Dannemora Kindergarten means becoming part of a cohesive and supportive team that values professional growth and cultural inclusiveness. You will contribute to a legacy of excellence in Early Childhood Education while making a meaningful impact on tamariki and whānau.
