The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi We are seeking a Youth Worker with expertise in supporting individuals with complex needs or mental health backgrounds. Join our OTIS youth team in Waikanae) where you will provide assistance to one or two taiohi (young person).
Responsibilities may include:
Working closely with clinical service staff in designing personalised support plans
You will work with people’s strengths, hold hope and encourage people to recognise their ability to overcome adversity.
You will work with people planning a suite of activities and programmes individually designed to help them meet goals
Shift Patterns available:
Friday to Monday 7am-3:30pm. 32 hours per week.
Tuesday to Saturday 7am-3:30pm. 40 hours per week.
Friday to Monday 3pm-11:30pm. 32 hours per week.
About You | Mōu: We’re looking for a passionate, energised youth worker to join our growing service.
You will have:
A National Certificate in Mental Health and Addiction Support Work (Level 4) or National Certificate in Youth Work, or willing to work towards.
A full driver’s licence.
A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
Knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Māori, including Te Reo Māori and Tikanga, or be open to learning about it.
Previous experience in youth work, social work, mental health and addiction preferred.
