Job Description

The Automation Engineer is responsible for maintaining automation systems that enhance efficiency, reliability, and product quality within the infant formula manufacturing site. This includes programming and optimising automated equipment, troubleshooting and resolving system issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

The role involves collaborating across departments to align automation efforts with operational goals, managing automation projects from conception to execution, and providing technical training and support to staff. The Automation Engineer will also lead initiatives to adopt new technologies, improve process efficiency, and support the site's commitment to food safety and quality assurance.


Qualifications and Experience:

Experience

  • Dealing with projects, contractors and clients, strong communication is a must.
  • Automation project engineering, including safety and commissioning.
  • PLC, Safety PLC, SCADA, ROBOTS, HMI and VSD, some brands such as Rockwell, Schneider, ABB, AVEVA System Platform/Intouch.
  • Experience in database integration.
  • Experience in Safety PLC Code.
  • Experience with process and batching control.


Capabilities

  • Integration of system components, including sensors, actuators, and program logic controllers.
  • Testing and debugging systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and stability.
  • Ensure that automated systems meet safety standards and regulations to prevent accidents and risks
  • Train and support operators and clients
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively on automation and programming.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance personnel
  • You will be able to demonstrate the use of critical thinking and creativity to manage working towards deadlines and varied workloads.

  • Software design and use of databases.
