Employment Specialist/ Transition Facilitator

  • Permanent, full-time position (80 hours per fortnight)
  • $25.50 to $35.50 per hour
  • Wairarapa-based


We are seeking an Employment Specialist/Transition Facilitator to join our experienced Employment Connections team in the Wairarapa.

The Role

In this role, you will support people to seek, secure, and maintain employment while empowering them through a strengths-based approach that upholds the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will advocate for inclusive employment practices, ensuring that those we support have the opportunities they deserve. Your experience in working with young people to reach their full potential will be invaluable in guiding and motivating them toward sustainable career pathways and their life after school.Your local knowledge and expertise will be key as you work alongside individuals and collaborate with multiple teams to create meaningful employment opportunities.

Flexibility is essential, as occasional weekend work and availability between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM may be required to meet the needs of those you support.

We are seeking a people-focused individual who excels at building trusting and respectful relationships with the individuals we support and their whānau. Your experience in supporting people with disabilities and health conditions on their employment journey has equipped you with the skills to guide and empower them toward meaningful work opportunities.

Highly motivated and solution-focused, you bring creativity to your role, finding innovative ways to support individuals in overcoming barriers to employment. Your strong knowledge of the local community will enable you to develop valuable networks and connections, ensuring those you support have access to the right opportunities and resources.
