About the Role
This senior position oversees high-value partnerships and strategic relationships across the insurance and public sectors, ensuring strong collaboration and shared success.
You will lead partnership management—bringing together key stakeholders, ensuring alignment of interests, and driving mutual value. Working closely with insurers, suppliers, and government entities, you will facilitate cooperation, maintain compliance, and optimise supplier agreements to support long-term goals.
The role will be based full-time in Christchurch.
Key Responsibilities
You will oversee key relationships with insurers, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination to achieve shared objectives. Managing partnerships proactively, you will create alignment between all parties, driving performance and ensuring agreements deliver value.
As the escalation point for insurer relationship challenges, you will facilitate solutions that maintain strong partnerships while balancing commercial priorities. Your leadership will foster continuous improvement in supplier collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and overall contract performance.
Additionally, you will represent the organisation in high-level industry forums, shaping public-private partnerships and industry best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Leadership – At least 10 years experience leading commercial, procurement, or contract management teams.
- Commercial & Procurement Expertise – 15+ years in supplier management, commercial negotiations, or strategic partnership oversight, ideally in a high-value, complex environment.
- Public-Private Sector Experience – Strong understanding of government procurement frameworks and how to leverage relationships within regulated industries.
- Strategic Thinker & Influencer – Ability to align competing stakeholders, facilitate agreement, and drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Resilient & Relationship-Driven – Adept at building strong partnerships, managing competing priorities, and ensuring successful collaboration.
- Insurance Experience – Familiarity with insurance operations, claims management, and industry regulations would be an advantage.
- This is a high-impact, strategic role with national significance. You'll be at the centre of an innovative public-private partnership model, working with key decision-makers across government and industry.
