About the Role: We are Adecco and looking for a motivated and experienced Stores Leading Hand to join one of our clients. This key supervisory role involves overseeing the operations of our warehouse and inventory processes, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and internal distribution. The Stores Leading Hand will ensure the department meets its goals and KPIs, while upholding the company's Core Values. This individual will also deputize for the Stores Supervisor in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily warehouse and receiving operations to ensure accurate inventory documentation.
  • Ensure safe working practices, including safe lifting techniques, and mentor staff on safety procedures.
  • Oversee stock receipt, storage, and food safety procedures.
  • Manage quality control and returns of incoming goods.
  • Assign tasks and oversee daily briefings for warehouse/Goods Receiving staff.
  • Monitor inventory management (FIFO) and maintain product integrity.
  • Lead team development and exceed customer expectations by optimizing team performance.
  • Support the monthly stocktake process and contribute to operational improvements.
  • Provide feedback on stock levels, product receipt procedures, and any inefficiencies.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: Warehousing experience in a food-related environment, with supervisory experience.
  • Technical Skills: Forklift license required.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to make informed decisions, engage stakeholders, and solve problems.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and influence team members.


Work Environment:

  • Physical tasks including standing, bending, and lifting products (10+ kg).
  • Working in a production kitchen facility with varying temperatures and noise.
  • Rotating shift schedule.
