About the Role Massey University is seeking a full time Energy Engineer based at our Manawatū campus, with travel required to our Wellington and Albany campuses. This role will play a key part in driving energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and sustainability initiatives across the university.
You will focus on data analytics, energy monitoring, and project facilitation to optimise energy use, reduce carbon emissions, and improve operational efficiencies. Reporting to the Manager - Engineering, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to achieve Massey’s goal of becoming Net Carbon Zero.
About You You are a technical expert in energy efficiency and carbon management, with strong data analysis and project management skills. You thrive in a collaborative environment and can engage effectively with key stakeholders. Your expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS), energy reporting tools, and sustainability initiatives will be crucial to this role.
Requirements for the Role
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Science, Building Services, or Environmental Engineering, with a focus on energy efficiency and carbon management.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant industry role.
Strong skills in energy data analytics, metering, and carbon reporting systems (e.g., BMS, ESP).
Experience in energy-saving project identification, management, and implementation.
Ability to work across multiple campuses and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to integrating its principles into your work.
