Operating for over 34 years, we're a well established, busy, diverse workshop situated in the sunny Mt Maunganui, Bay of Plenty.

Due to increased workloads we are seeking a skilled, self-motivated, energetic Fitter Turner (Diagnostic Engineer / Machinist) to join our team.

We are looking for that special person with a great work ethic who is happy to engage with management to ensure good practices are always maintained. A great positive attitude required and really enjoys a challenge.

Required skills and experience:

• Machinery repairs and maintenance, including motors, gearboxes, conveyors.
• Manufacture, machining and maintenance of components and parts.
• Experience in changing all types of bearings.
• Light fabrication.
• Ability to be able to MIG and TIG weld a variety of metals including Steel, Aluminium and Stainless steel.
• Guillotine and Pressbrake experience would be an advantage.

Our successful applicant will:

• Be a Trade Certified Fitter Turner for manual lathe and milling machines
• Hold a full drivers licence
• Be proficient in manual machining and fitting procedures
• Have a good attitude towards work and maintain good rapport with clients
• Be safety conscious and able to work unsupervised
• Be a problem solver with a keen eye for fault finding
• Cope well under pressure
• Welding skills would be beneficial

This is a full time permanent position, usual hours are Monday - Friday 7am - 5pm however can include some weekend work and call outs. An immediate start is available.

Remuneration will be aligned with the skills and experience you bring to the role and penal rates apply.
