Now, we are looking for a talented individual to join using providing world-class service to our marina and pedestrian users.

As the Bridge Controller, you will be responsible for the seamless operation of the Wynyard Crossing Bridge and the CCTV and communications hub within the Wynyard Quarter. Your main goal will be to ensure the safety and efficiency of both marine and pedestrian traffic, maintaining public safety as a top priority.

In this role you will be working Monday to Friday, 7am-3pm.

Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

  • Efficiently operate the Wynyard Crossing lift-bridge, ensuring paramount regard for the safety of the public and vessels.
  • Coordinate between marina vessel traffic and Wynyard Crossing pedestrian traffic.
  • Represent Eke Panuku Development Auckland as an ambassador for Auckland in interactions with the public.
  • Escalate issues immediately or as appropriate.


He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires experience in similar customer service and safety awareness roles, with a sound understanding of utilising effective communication and organisational skills.

We will be looking for specific experience with:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to liaise with boat crews.
  • “Marine VHF Certificate” advantageous, however training will be provided if required.
  • Experience with computer use.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marine etiquette is advantageous.
  • A strong customer focus and a proactive approach required
  • Holder of a clean NZ Drivers Licence
