Our client is seeking an experienced Test Lead on hourly rate contract, initially for 6 months to help establish their test strategy and road map. This role will be responsible for leading business testing activities on large-scale projects and client onboardings. The successful candidate will have a strong practical understanding of technology and operations, working in close collaboration with IT and other key stakeholders.
What you'll do:
Your primary responsibility will be to execute testing on critical projects, ensuring that all aspects of the system are functioning as expected. You will lead user acceptance testing activities, manage test environment setups, and convert business requirements into test cases. Additionally, you will assign tasks, manage workloads, and mentor test analysts. Your ability to create or source test data, track defects, write regular status reports, and identify project risks will be crucial to your success in this role.
- Documenting the overall test strategy, test plan and run sheet
- Inputting and maintaining requirement traceability matrix for user acceptance testing and joint user acceptance testing
- Managing the test environment setups including data cuts, refreshes and code deployment
- Understanding the business requirements and converting them to test cases
- Leading the user acceptance testing activities including test execution with business users and defect retesting
- Assigning tasks, managing workloads, and mentoring test analysts
- Creation and/or sourcing of test data
- Defect triage, tracking and issue resolution
- Writing regular status reports for testing progress including defect reporting
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Test Lead position brings a wealth of experience in testing roles, including at least two years in a leadership capacity. You have proven experience working with offshore teams and are comfortable in customer-facing roles. Your working knowledge of IT systems and environments sets you apart from others. Familiarity with applications such as Octane, JIRA, or Confluence would be advantageous.
