Ngā Kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role The Senior Reporting Analyst will play a key role in driving digital enablement and upskilling of the Finance team and wider firm in data reporting, analysis and digital tools. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of data analysis, Business Intelligence (BI) tools (specifically Power BI and Alteryx), and a passion for building team capabilities in digital reporting.
Digital Upskilling: Lead initiatives to enhance the Finance team’s reporting capabilities and digital awareness by conducting training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops on digital reporting tools and best practices. Advocate for the adoption of digital tools across the Finance team to improve reporting efficiency and data accessibility.
Existing Reporting: Maintain, enhance and troubleshoot existing Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring they meet business requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Design, develop and automate reporting processes to ensure timely, accurate and relevant data is delivered to the stakeholders.
Reporting Optimisation: Continuously monitor and optimise existing reports to improve data clarity and ease of use.
Process & Reporting Automation: Identify opportunities for process improvements and reporting automation. Develop and implement automated reporting solutions to reduce manual tasks and increase reporting efficiency.
Collaboration: Work alongside NZIT/ Systems Accountant to leverage digital skillset.
Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience
3-5 years’ experience as a Reporting Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role, preferably in a Finance and Operations environment.
Strong expertise in Power BI for report building, data visualisation and dashboard development. Ability to work with large datasets and complex reporting requirements. Intermediate level of expertise in DAX.
Hands-on experience with Alteryx building data workflows.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, M365 with a keen ability to handle complex datasets and reporting structures.
Ability to effectively communicate complex reporting and BI concepts to non-technical team members and senior stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
Ability to work in an agile, digital environment.
