He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Join our dynamic team as an Associate Licensing and Environmental Health Officer, where you will play a crucial role in promoting public health and safety across the Auckland Region. This is an exciting opportunity to assist the Licensing and Environmental Health Unit in supporting businesses, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and helping to reduce risk and harm. You will be involved in alcohol and environmental health licensing, inspections, resolving complaints, and providing essential customer support, all while working collaboratively within a supportive and inclusive team environment.

This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of Auckland’s communities.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You are a proactive and customer-focused individual with a strong commitment to public health and safety. With 3-4 years of experience in local government support or customer service roles, you bring solid problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues efficiently. Your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enable you to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. Ideally, you have experience in a regulatory environment and an understanding of how local councils operate. You are keen to learn, grow, and contribute to continuous improvement within the team. While a tertiary qualification in a related field is desirable, your hands-on experience and dedication to promoting voluntary compliance make you a great fit for this role. A current New Zealand driver’s licence is required.
