About the role
We are looking for a Building Officer to join our Environment & Sustainability group to help us achieve our ambitious plans for the Hutt Valley in 2025.

There are plans for 6000 new homes to be constructed in the Hutt Valley by 2032 and growing industrial and commercial sector, so we are needing experienced professionals to grow our team ensuring we have the capability and resource to make this a reality.

You'll join a passionate team who are responsible for processing regulatory consent applications in line with the Building Act 2004, related regulations and the NZ building code.

About You
You'll bring a qualification in building science, surveying, architecture or a related area, with preference given to those with an existing regulation 18 qualification and a current competency Residential Level 2 or above. We ask this of you so you come with the right knowledge and feel comfortable processing building consents for these new homes.

You'll join a team who are committed to the development of the Hutt, working with trades and professionals and across Council departments to ensure that all new homes are fit for purpose.

Applications close Tuesday 7th January 2025 at 11.55pm.
