Mō te tūranga | About the Role
The role of Simplification Manager is to works with a business improvement methodology framework to take ownership of driving process and delivery initiatives.

The purpose of this role is to use your knowledge and skills in a constructive and collaborative way to facilitate and lead simplification initiatives to improve Westpac’s processes and procedures and develop continuous improvement capability within the business. A focus and proven experience to deliver tangible outcomes which will improve Procurement process experience is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and co-ordinate Procurement continuous improvement programmes
  • Identify and prioritise continuous improvement and simplification initiatives
  • Accountable to lead implementation of initiatives to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Have a detailed understanding of the Westpac Way of Working and methodologies to ensure robust delivery.
  • Consistently challenging the organisation to gain effective alignment of work and functions between the business and procurement teams.
  • Influence internal and external business partners to achieve the delivered outcomes to enhance best customer outcomes and staff and customer experiences.
  • Create and develop action plans & process maps, processes, and procedures.
  • Developing tools to support training and coaching.
  • Engage with change and comms to ensure robust delivery of initiatives
  • Leveraging wider WNZL network to seek continuous improvements and tools to maximise efficiency

  • Strong relationship building capability
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Procurement operational processes · Developed problem solving skills
  • Communication – Clearly conveying outcomes, as well as providing information and ideas to the programme, and stakeholders in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand the value
  • Ability to identify productivity and efficiency opportunities & provide solutions/share best practice
  • Competent in analysing and interpreting results and trends
  • Ability to challenge self – being able to work out own solutions
  • Proven ability to access a wide variety of resources and build strong networks
