The Company

Our client is a large well known NZ privately owned company with nationwide presence and a fantastic environment to work within. The company is well known for its stability of staff with long tenure due to it being a great place to work. The culture is supportive, collaborative and team based. The company has strong financial backing and the financial performance of the business has continued to be well beyond expectations. This role has arisen due to a maternity leave and will be for 14 months to ensure sufficient hand overs of knowledge on both ends of the contract.

The Role
The role of the Assistant Accountant reports directly to the Finance Manager who is well tenured and has been with the business for a long period of time. You will have plenty of support and knowledge around you. Your duties will include:

• Daily and monthly banking reconciliations including foreign currency accounts
• Intercompany allocations
• Month-end journals, accruals and pre-payments
• Assisting with interim and YE Audit
• Analysis reporting on stock to regional management
• Monthly invoicing of sales and reconciliations for multiple branches
• Cashflow management and forecasting
• Fixed Asset management
• Balance Sheet reconciliation
• Assisting with monthly reporting
• Ad hoc duties as requested

Your profile:

Experience with a large ERP system is essential (SAP, D365, Netsuite, Oracle etc) and you will have Intermediate excel skills. You will have excellent relationship building skills as you will be liaising with the stores, lots of initiative/problem solving ability and be able to multitask. Most importantly this company maintains a very down to earth culture so somebody who has not only the technical skills but also a sense of humor will love this long term assignment!
