Te Wero – The Challenge
We are seeking a skilled engineer to join the Transportation Asset Management team.
The purpose of this role is to work in civil engineering (Roading), focusing on asset management, road condition and maintenance analysis, pavement deterioration modelling, asset valuation, pavement design, and strategic planning.
In this role, you will work closely with the FNDC asset engineering staff to deliver comprehensive roading asset management planning services. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining and enhancing the quality and safety of our transportation infrastructure.
I ā koe - About You
We are looking for someone with NZCE, Diploma or Degree qualification in engineering or asset management or 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Strong organisational and time management skills will be essential to your success.
Experience with the following would be advantageous:
- Strategic Oversight: Guide the strategic direction for roading assets and operations, ensuring they align with district-wide objectives.
- Asset Management: Create and sustain asset management plans, maintenance strategies, and annual programs, backed by robust business cases and funding applications.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report on the success of maintenance and renewal programs, ensuring they meet high standards and comply with regulations.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate closely with contractors, suppliers, and professional service providers to ensure smooth handovers and a customer-focused culture.
- Innovation and Improvement: Embrace new technologies and continuously enhance asset management practices, contributing to land transport policies and strategies.

- The salary for this position is Grade 15 within Council's salary structure (Band: $78,936 to $92,866 pro rata per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
