Our client is looking for Shift Leaders in the Hawke's Bay area at King Street, Hastings.

X1 Seasonal Shift Leader - Afternoon Shift - 14:00 pm - 22:00pm

X1 Morning Shift - 06:00am - 14:00pm

X1 Night Shift - 22:00pm - 06:00am

About Role:

  • Drive Health and Safety standard practices.
  • Facilitates the line loss analysis (waste elimination and yield improvement) and line throughput improvement plans. (OEE current/future state)
  • Analyses line data daily and per shift to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities.
  • Participates in internal audits.
  • Ensures correct food quality and safety practices and works with the sanitary design team.
  • Spends time on the floor to gather information on stops, centerlines and changeovers over the past 24 hours.
  • Investigates initial root cause of top stops/breakdowns.
  • Develops plan for the day for ownership areas.
  • Attends level 1 meetings and level 2 meetings.
  • Leads toolbox meetings and team briefs.
  • Discusses top stops and root cause. Establish countermeasures in plan for the day.
  • Ensures centerline completion and compliance. Create countermeasures on any outages.
  • Works with Process Owner, CI Lead and Maintenance Lead to address losses
  • Manages centerline and Quality Daily Management Systems
  • Complies with all established GMP, Housekeeping guidelines, housekeeping responsibilities and QRMP operating procedures.
  • Assists in the implementation of the QRMP program and acts as trainer.
  • Assists in the development of the individuals within the team.
  • Identifies and addresses any issues amongst the team as they arise.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management.


Your Key Skills:

  • Technical knowledge of and experience with production equipment.
  • Knowledge of relevant company, legal, safety, hygiene, quality, environmental, occupational health and safety and HACCP guidelines;
  • Associate degree in related field or equivalent in manufacturing experience.
  • Capable of learning intermediate Microsoft excel, Power point, Word, Matrics, and ZPI skills.
  • Strong planning/organizational skills and communication skills.
  • Understanding of requirements and importance of documentation.
  • Can understand and write SOPs, OPLs and CIL's.
  • Project ideation, generation, implementation, and project completion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures i.e. (lock-out / tag-out, confined space entry).
