About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi We’re looking for a Senior Registered Nurse (with a mental health or comprehensive scope of practice) to join our 4-bed short-term crisis respite service, and to support other Pathways services in Nelson as needed. You’ll report to the Team Coach and work alongside a team of Support Workers and Clinical Staff.
The role includes:
Performing physical and mental health assessments
Providing a safe, nurturing space for tangata whaiora experiencing crisis
Clinical oversight of medication, support plans, risk management, and goal setting
Supporting the Team Coach to ensure service excellence and high clinical standards
Collaborating and liaising with service partners and key stakeholders
Providing culturally competent care
This is a casual role, covering leave for permanent employees on an as-needed basis. Current availability is required for PM shifts (3:00pm–11:30pm), with the potential to cover Team Coach leave (8:30am–5:00pm)
You | Mōu You will be:
A NZ Registered Nurse with a current annual practicing certificate within mental health scope of practice.
Have at least 2 years experience being a RN
Have a demonstrated commitment to continuing personal and professional development within RN scope of practice.
Have knowledge and is passionate about mental health nursing, theory, practice, legal boundaries, and ethical concerns.
Have knowledge of the Nelson Health and Social Services sectors.
Hold a full New Zealand driver’s license.
