He angitūtanga: The opportunity
As an Advisory Partner, you’ll be writing reports, memos, presentations, templates and more to enable our elected members to make informed decisions on a variety of topics, and our departments to communicate well with their stakeholders.

Auckland Council’s Community directorate is the council's largest directorate with over 3,500 kaimahi across five customer-facing departments. These departments run and maintain our parks, pools, libraries and community facilities, empower community groups, work to restore and improve our natural environment, and provide education, licensing and enforcement services to ensure that public and environmental health is promoted and maintained.

You’ll be work working with kaimahi from across these departments to translate their subject matter expertise into high-quality political advice, and clear compelling communications to Auckland

By joining the Advisory team in the Executive Office Community you’ll be joining a collaborative and supportive team of experienced advisory specialists.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You’ll have a passion for quality advice and a keen interest in political decision-making and have exemplary written and oral communication skills and excellent attention to detail. You’ll also be able to build and maintain partnerships with a variety of people at different levels

Your tertiary qualification will be in English, political studies, policy or similar, and you’ll have experience in an advisory or stakeholder management role. Experience in providing complex integrated advice to decision-makers will be an advantage. You’ll be familiar with Auckland Council’s shared governance model, have a solid understanding of our quality advice standards and can spot a rogue capital letter a mile away.
