The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Theatre Coordinator.
Working in the Theatre department, reporting to the Theatre Services Manager, the Theatre Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Theatre where our surgical procedures include Cardiothoracic surgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal, General and Paediatrics, Urology, Plastics, Maxilla Facial, ENT and Dental. This is a key senior role in Theatre, responsible for providing clinical and nursing leadership across our Theatre team and ensuring efficient coordination of resources to support an outstanding experience for our specialist, patients, and team.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be a team player who understands that relationships are key to effective and efficient coordination of services, and has the ability to tailor their approach for different audiences;
- Have at least three years relevant clinical experience in NZ and a strong understanding of medico-legal and ethical responsibilities is critical;
- Demonstrate awareness and application of AORN standards;
- Have a keen eye for continuous improvement and enhancing quality;
- Have excellent verbal and written skills; effective communication is key to ensuring a highly coordinated Theatre team;
- Have a high level of organisation and good time management skills; and
- Have a current New Zealand Nursing Registration (APC).
