Job Opportunity: Light Diesel Mechanic
Location: Airport Oaks - Auckland
Pay Rate: $32 - $40

Are you an experienced and motivated mechanic looking for a new opportunity? Our client is seeking a skilled individual to join their team and perform maintenance, repairs and diagnostic tests on a wide variety of vehicles including light commercial trucks and diesel vans and utes.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
As a Light Diesel Mechanic, you'll be responsible for:

  • Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing all areas of commercial vehicles, with a focus on brakes, suspension, and engine repairs.
  • Performing routine maintenance and preventative services on vehicles.
  • Conducting diagnostic tests using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and addressing mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Replacing faulty parts and components as required.
  • Completing Pre-COF checks.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work and parts used.
  • Ensuring that all repairs and maintenance meet safety and quality standards.
  • Working collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Keeping up to date with advancements in diesel technology and repair techniques.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of mechanical experience, specifically working on light commercial trucks and diesel vehicles.
  • Expertise in diagnostics, engine repair, and suspension/brake systems.
  • Level 4 qualification preferred (but not essential).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full, valid NZ driver’s license (truck license beneficial).
  • Experience with dual rear-wheeler trucks is advantageous.
  • Ability to fit tyres on both passenger and commercial vehicles is a plus.
