We are New Zealand’s largest ECE provider with over 270 centres nationwide and on the lookout for a People and Culture Advisor to join our whānau. We are passionate about making a difference in the lives of our tamariki, our people and are proud of what we do.

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity for someone to grow their People & Culture career. The role has a strong project, and analytics focus as we continue our journey to optimise our systems and processes. The person will also support our wider national HR Team in providing our managers and employees with comprehensive yet practical HR advice.

The very nature of the early childhood education sector means our organisation has responsibility for wellbeing and education of thousands of children every day. The ideal person

To thrive, you’ll have great analytic and people skills to be effective in your ability to influence others to assist them to make good people and business decisions. You’ll have solid HR generalist experience and be skilled at working to deadlines and quick to learn. BestStart is a fun, dynamic and fast paced environment, so someone with a flexible attitude to their work, ability to develop relationships and a willingness to learn is a must.

More specifically key competencies sought are:

  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Solid knowledge and practical experience of NZ employment law
  • Excellent letter and report writing skills
  • Exposure and understanding of HR analytics
