The Role

Fisher & Paykel is one of New Zealand’s best-known brands, a global company with a strong heritage and ambitious plans. Our New Zealand origins, curious nature and passion to develop luxury products designed around people are core elements that make us unique.

Driven by our brand values of being real, generous, curious and sustainably minded, as a team we take a collaborative approach, have a culture where ideas are heard, and are united in our leading goal to be the world's most human-centred, #1 premium appliance brand.

As part of the largest global appliance brand – Haier, you’ll be joining a company that is on an exciting journey. A partnership that brings innovation and future led solutions, leading the way in the appliance space, it’s an exciting time to join the business!

The Opportunity

It is not often this role comes up in our business. As our General Manager of Builder (NZ), you will foster and grow existing relationships & seek-out new opportunities for our business.

You’ll have overall responsibility for strategic planning & execution of the builder and commercial channels in our New Zealand Market with our F&P and Haier brands. Along with the responsibility for increasing market share & delivering profitable growth in the short & long term. Identifying & cultivating new business opportunities whilst delivering a world-class end to end customer experience across all touchpoints.

This is where you come in

You will establish strategies & execute these for the builder channel, ensuring alignment with our global imperatives & growth aspirations. Ensuing the strategic plan is translated to the team. Identifying the executable actions that deliver to the strategy, resulting in increased product market share and profitable growth.

You’ll ensure disciplined & effective execution of those plans on a weekly cadence, including identified priority changes and activity. Taking personal responsibility for tracking & reporting on the progress of the strategic plan’s implementation, through the use of High-Performance Delivery and tools, to drive delivery to plan.

You’ll demonstrate quality, hands on leadership, creating a thoughtful vision of what success looks like to engage the people in the channel & to deliver the right work that will strengthen channel’s performance.

You will ensure appropriate stakeholder management approaches are taken within the channel to ensure highly effective cross-functional collaboration with global supporting functions. Providing regular reporting updates on channel’s progress to the Executive Leadership Team and as well as across the local and global group.

So who are you?

You will be an expert relationship manager with strong sales expertise. A team leader, with a persuasive yet empathetic approach. You prioritise delivery.

You play the long game & take a genuine interest in your customers business. You have the ability to extract business and dial-up ways to grow business with customers. You’re a hunter, able to identify opportunity in your team (and hold them accountable for revenue and gross margin.)

You may or may not already hold a similar position in the industry, we are interested in capability & potential…so if you are outside of the appliances industry, don’t let it hold you back from applying.

What we offer

We can give you the rare opportunity to move into a large, complex global organisation headquartered in NZ, where you will gain wide exposure across the business. This role has diverse and exciting challenges and the chance to continually learn and develop.

Along with a competitive salary, flexible working, ongoing development, as a valued member of our team you’ll enjoy generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products, life & disability insurance, discounted medical cover, access to our leading Whanau/Family leave offering, our subsidised staff café, and free car parking when you are on-site.

All this, coupled with great leadership and backed by a world leading heritage brand that is consistently ranked as one of New Zealand’s most Trusted Brands… year after year.
