Ngā Kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role
We are looking for a Senior Associate in Government Incentives to join our Financial Advisory Services team. Based in the bustling Commercial Bay, this role will see you providing high-quality services to PwC clients who are seeking government support for their Research & Development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working directly with innovative clients to deliver R&D funding.
  • Understanding interesting R&D projects to provide clients with trust and confidence in the funding applications they are making.
  • Supporting senior team members to develop strategies to optimise clients' R&D tax positions.
  • Liaising with Inland Revenue and Callaghan Innovation to resolve matters.
  • Proactively manage a portfolio of clients to meet all deadlines
  • Influence a continual improvement of our operations with a focus on utilisation of technologies

  • Client Engagement: Experience in client-facing roles with the ability to work on multiple projects across a wide range of industries
  • Attitude: Continual improvement mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional client service and supporting the team to grow
  • Communication skills: Strong communication skills for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Professional Services Experience: Will be an advantage, but not essential - we will help you settle in this environment.
  • Educational Background: Science/Engineering or Financial Qualifications
  • Desirable: Knowledge of government incentives beyond NZ and experience with R&D activities.
  • Technical Skills: Curiosity and proficiency in Gen AI tools is preferred, coupled with strong report writing skills.
  • Having or willing to learn strong business acumen and understanding of the research and development lifecycle and process will help you succeed in this role.
