Ko tō tūranga – your role


The Data Engineer sits in the AI & Data function, working in a squad, building foundational data products to support reporting, analytics as well as enabling ML, AI and application intelligence.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, apache and other relevant technologies.
  • Implement the appropriate models to deliver optimised solutions for performance, scaling and ease of use. Where possible follow Kimball methodology for data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
  • Work within and support an agile team.
  • Follow SDLC principles around code management, version control, and release pipelines via CI / CD process.
  • Take a leadership role with on and off shore teams


Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • Strong knowledge of data engineering principles within analytical environments
  • Extensive previous experience of working on Data warehousing
  • Development experience working with CI/CD pipelines
  • Expert knowledge of SQL and good knowledge of Python
  • Experience working with large volumes of information covering relational, dimensional, and non-structured data working in complex enterprise environments
  • Understanding of Kimball methodologies
  • Working in an Agile environment
  • Experience in on-premise and cloud environments, ideally AWS and Snowflake.
