ABOUT THE ROLE

The Construction Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the team within their branch and overseeing their specific portfolios. This role involves fostering and developing strong client relationships and providing exceptional bid support that goes above and beyond client expectations leading to securing healthy projects.



Key Responsibilities

Construction Delivery Support:

  • Leading the management of company resources, machinery, materials, and staff to optimise contract quality and efficiency without compromising safety
  • Continuously monitor contract deliverables whilst minimising and mitigating delivery risks.
  • Strong financial management to meet budgets and maximize revenue, ensuring scope changes are soundly managed
  • Provide leadership and technical inputto project teams, collaborating with the regional team for optimal resource productivity.



Business Development and Tender Bid Support:

  • Foster constructive and collaborative relationships with key client representatives
  • Assess and account for risks in contracts and proposals and provide input to ensure a viable delivery model
  • Contribute to accurate estimating by identifying actual cost vs estimateContinuous Improvement and Operations:
  • Ensure excellent risk and SHEQ performance within the project/business unit.
  • Identify and implement areas for improvement and operational excellence, including technology and process enhancements.
  • Promote a culture of safety above compliance, adhering to risk management and health, safety, and environmental standards.



Personal Leadership:

  • Uphold Ventia’s values of Integrity, Collaboration, Challenge, and Ingenuity.
  • Engage and develop the delivery team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within client expectations.



ABOUT YOU

As the successful candidate, you will need to have extensive experience in Project or Construction management where you have successfully collaborated with a diverse range of stakeholders and clients, consistently achieving positive outcomes.



You will need to have a strong record in commercial management within a multi-disciplinary business environment.



Desirable Experience:

  • Roading/Civil construction experience is essential, preferably within the local region. Familiarity with NZS3910 contracts are an advantage.



Education and Qualifications:

  • NZ Driver’s Licence (Class 1)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) along with NZCE qualifications or equivalent.
