Job Description
The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
The Auckland Bioengineering Institute (ABI) is a cross-faculty research centre. Our research deals with the application of mathematical and engineering sciences to biology and human physiology. We aim to improve understanding of physiological processes and the diagnosis and treatment of injury or disease. Due to a staff member relocating overseas, we have an exciting opportunity for a detail-orientated Research Programme Coordinator to join our team.
Key Accountabilities:
- You will be the first point of contact for support, providing a first class administrative and operational service to researchers covering the planning, implementation and delivery of research projects.
- You will assist researchers with the preparation and submission of funding proposals, including collecting relevant information and approvals, budget development, and ensuring compliance with client/funder and UoA guidelines and protocols.
- You will also assist the researcher with the management of the project budget, including financial re-forecasting, tracking and reporting.
- You will be central to ensuring compliance with appropriate governance guidelines and policies.
- You will liaise with other service divisions across the University to facilitate outcomes related to the different aspects of the research life cycle

The salary range is $62,400 to $77,800/Band E and will be dependent on experience.
This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position.
About the team | Mō tō mātou rōpū
ABI is a world-leading research institute that aims to improve medical diagnosis and treatment of injury and disease. We do this through the application of engineering sciences and technical innovation to medicine and human physiology.
The Institute has around 250 members, of which approximately 105 are graduate students enrolled in Doctoral or Master's research. All our students are members of at least one multi-disciplinary research team, which often include valuable collaborations with domestic and international clinicians, medical professionals, computer scientists and bioengineers.

- While a tertiary qualification and an understanding of the research life cycle are beneficial, they are not essential, and training can be offered to the right candidate.
