He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

Join our team as a Unit Manager at Victoria University of Wellington, where you'll organize and manage the contract in accordance with the standards required by Compass Group and the client for Catering, Cleaning, and Laundry services. You'll be responsible for providing great quality services to meet client expectations, managing, developing, and training all team members, ensuring compliance, and running the contract commercially in line with net growth and retention targets.

  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with clients to build long-term and mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Manage contracts to provide services, ensuring services are completed in accordance with the contracted scope of work for all three services.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor quality customer service practices, driving the team to understand the importance of client and/or customer focus.
  • Manage finances within a budget, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and improve budget performance for the site.
  • Lead and manage an effective team, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and managing staff grievances effectively.

  • In-depth understanding of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment principles.
  • Single site operational experience in a similar role within the industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage a budget.
  • Proven experience in managing successful teams and forming productive relationships with clients and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Working knowledge of workplace regulations, including agreement requirements.
