Job Description

At Firth Masonry, we are looking for a skilled and passionate Maintenance Engineer to join our close-knit team in Hornby, Christchurch. If you’re someone who loves a challenge, thrives on variety, and enjoys a good laugh along the way, this might be the perfect opportunity for you!

About the Role: As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing environment in Christchurch with some requirements to travel and support our sites in Nelson & Cromwell as required.

You’ll bring your expertise to maintain and optimize our equipment, (hydraulics, conveyors etc) tackle a variety of maintenance tasks both scheduled maintenance and reactive and keep our production running seamlessly.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Mechanical engineering or a relevant trade qualification, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment (heavy manufacturing or similar advantageous)
  • Skills: A hands-on problem solver with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and adapt to new challenges.
  • Team Spirit: A great sense of humour and a collaborative approach—you’ll be part of a supportive team where camaraderie matters as much as skills.
  • Drive to Grow: Passion for learning and upskilling as we provide opportunities for you to build on your knowledge and advance your career.

Working Monday to Friday - 6am to 2pm/3pm - minimum 40-hour week
