Job Description

HealthCare NZ is a leading provider of in-home and community-based health, rehabilitation, nursing, mental health, and disability support. Our aim is to support people to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible and to maintain their independence regardless of age, injury, illness, or disability.

Are you looking to make a real difference in your community? We are currently looking for empathetic and passionate Support Workers to work with our client in Hamilton who is fluent in Mandarin and holds level 3 or above Health and Wellbeing qualification. ( Or equivalent )

This role is permanent full time with minimum 30hrs per week rostered shifts. candidates need to have 6 months experience and avaiable to work Rostered shifts providing 24/7 cover.

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied, and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all the below:

  • Meal preparation
  • Community outings and integration
  • Giving medication
  • Personal cares (showering, toileting, Bowel management stage 3, manual handling, hoist transfers etc)
  • Home management

What are we looking for?

  • Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is preferred but level 3 or above in healthcare wellbeing is essential. ( or equivalent )
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Healthcare qualifications are advantageous.
  • Most positions require a full NZ drivers' licence and your own reliable transport.
  • fluent in Mandarin
