About the role
Step aboard the San Granit, Sanford's 67m factory trawler, the largest in our entire deep-water fleet. Operating year-round, these vessels catch, process, and package premium seafood, delivering it to tables worldwide. As a Factory Supervisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the Skipper, Factory Manager, and team to produce the highest quality New Zealand seafood.
This independent contractor opportunity offers a balanced work schedule of 6 weeks at sea followed by 6 weeks off (paid). With operations running 24/7, you'll work in a values-driven environment alongside a dedicated team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the factory team to maintain production excellence.
- Ensure the safe and efficient handling of seafood, primarily hoki and squid.
- Maintain compliance with food safety and risk management programmes.
- Train and mentor crew in processing and factory operations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Prioritise health, safety, and wellbeing for yourself and your team.
