Bay Venues …. Haven’t heard of us? Not to worry; I bet you have heard of some of the venues we own or operate – the iconic Mount Hot Pools, Baywave, or Mercury Baypark to name a few. As the kaitiaki of 24 facilities in Tauranga Moana, we proudly offer a range of activities and experiences intended to put a smile on the dial of our community.

We currently have a part time vacancy for an active and enthusiastic individual who loves to be part of the action, to join our team as a Venue Attendant.
Based at the Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre (QEYC), you will be responsible for assisting in the operation of the centre. Tasks will include undertaking general site maintenance, assisting in the set up/pack down of sports equipment for leagues, competitions or tournaments and events, some reception and customer service tasks as well as undertaking cleaning of the venues and equipment as required.
To be successful you must:
- Be experienced in this line of work or have worked in an environment where you are able to see clearly what needs to be done and self-manage how you apply yourself
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with a high attention to detail.
- Be a committed team player, who is able to act in a proactive manner;
- Be physically fit as some heavy lifting is required;
- Be professional in your demeanor and think clearly when under pressure.
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation;
- Able to use a computer/tablet competently as well as being reasonably fluent in Microsoft suite. Experience using a leisure management system or booking system would be awesome!
- Current first aid is desirable but not essential
Experience in the sport, recreation industry or working in or with community groups would stand you apart from the crowd.
The hours available are Tuesday to Friday 8:30 – 3:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 8.45am-6.15pm.
Occasionally the hours will extend to include more weekend work, especially during events. This is rostered with you ahead of time. Flexibility is essential as this is determined by business demands. In return, our remuneration package includes a competitive wage with excellent staff benefits.
