About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga
You will be working as part of our clinical community nursing programme service who provide District Nursing in the community. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and passionate Registered Nurse to deliver high quality nursing services to people living in the community. You will live in the Ōtautahi Christchurch region.
This role is about working with our already established team of Nurses, Coordinators, Support Workers and other Allied Health in the community. As a Registered Nurse you will provide a broad range of care to clients in their own home such as:
- Palliative care including syringe driver care
- Non-complex and complex wound care including negative pressure therapy and compression bandaging
- Medication management and the methadone programme
- Diabetes management
- Catheter and bowel cares
- Tunnel Drain care
- Cardio-pulmonary Care
- Cardio-thoracic and chest trauma care post-surgery
Part of the role is providing a 24hr service to clients which includes nurses working weekends and evening shifts, as well as an on-call component. Shifts include:
Morning shift: 8:00AM - 4.30PM
Afternoon shift 1:00pm - 9.30PM
On call: one overnight shift every 4 weeks

- Passion for making a difference and improving the quality of life for people living in their own homes
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- At least 1 years' experience as a Registered Nurse and have a current registration
- Restricted or Full Driver's License - must be able to drive around by yourself!

All applicants must be a NZ Resident/Citizen or have a valid NZ work permit and be living in or intending to move to Christchurch or Canterbury. Must be able to complete a satisfactory police check and reference checks.
